This year our ChickTech: High School program kickoff will take place on November 10 – 11, 2018 at a location in San Francisco (in SOMA/Financial District area currently being confirmed).

Application Process

Now – Early-November: Nomination
Educators fill out the nomination form with the names of high school girls who qualify for one or more of the following:

  1. Have an above-average aptitude for math or science, along with creativity and willingness to learn new things
  2. Would probably not consider a tech career without extra encouragement
  3. May not have created technology before (i.e. who are not already on a robotics team, haven’t attended a STEM camp, etc.)
  4. Are eligible for free or reduced lunch
  5. Are self-identified women of color

Late-September – Early-November: Invitation
We send, to each of our our nominees, an invitation letter including their registration code, event agenda, and workshops descriptions.

Late-September – Early-November: Registration
Participants register online for the event.Students register online and choose technical workshops they are interested in (some examples: web development, user experience design, game development, robotics). The event is first come, first served, although we will have a waiting list in case there are cancellations!

November 10 – 11, 2018: ChickTech High School Kickoff
Students will participate in a technical workshop all weekend long and demo their projects at the end (like a mini science fair).
