High School Program
We work with Educators to help us provide opportunities to the girls that would not have found tech on their own or that have financial or life situations that make it harder for them to develop these skills organically. They nominate students who
- are eligible for free or reduced lunch
- Have an above-average aptitude for math or science, along with creativity and willingness to learn new things
- Would probably not consider a tech career without extra encouragement
- have not created technology before (i.e. who are not already on a robotics team, haven’t attended a STEM camp, etc.)
Last year, 57.6% of our attendees came from zip codes with a median household income lower than the SF Bay Area median household income. 63% of the students nominated were eligible for a free/reduced lunch program due to their financial status.
